As I prepare to lead you through this retreat, I keep returning to a simple image:
A plain box.
Carefully wrapped with a deep purple satin ribbon.
Tied with a simple bow.
It is a gift.
A gift from God.
Its contents are unknown—not because they are meant to be hidden, but because they are meant to be discovered.
Do you need time and space to open your box?
If so, I invite you to join me for this gentle Advent retreat—a time set apart.
Time to breathe.
Space to listen.
Room to be present to whatever this gift may hold.
No one else can open it. That part is yours.
Whatever it is, it’s yours to explore.
Come.
Step into the quiet.
And discover what God has prepared for you—
something unique, something sacred,
something filled with hope, joy, peace, and love.

Charney Manor:
This day retreat will be at the beautiful and peaceful Charney Manor in the glorious Oxfordshire countryside. Full address details are below.
Parts of Charney Manor date back to the 13th Century, and it certainly has an air of peace and tranquility. You are very welcome to enjoy the peaceful 3 acres of grounds that include mature trees, a horse paddock, an orchard, and a secret garden. There are also some lovely walks through the old village and along the nearby river Ock. The Manor is situated next to St Peter's Church, which you are also able to visit.
Accommodation & refreshments:
This day retreat does not include accommodation, but it does include refreshments on arrival and throughout the day, and a delicious lunch and cake served in the afternoon with our tea.
Charney Manor provides accommodation should you wish to extend your stay. Please get in touch with Charney Manor directly to book accommodation. There are also other providers of accommodation nearby.
Timings:
All bookings for the retreat are to be made directly through Eden Christian Retreats. The day will start with arrival from 9.30 am for tea and coffee with a 10 am start time. The day will finish at approximately 4 pm.
